Basically the weapons are. Plunger-Mace-Axe-Spear-(Final Weapon). Final Weapon being the last weapon you can get and most definitely the strongest. Tom has two stages Beard then Skull. If you end up smashing tom up like crazy you can possibly get the last weapon. Instead try to gather up all the tombstones on the map and put them together. Then go crazy on them and keep smashing. Just keep evading his very simple attacks and you will be fine. I managed to get the final weapon on my first life pretty easily
